Laurel Glen says Lot 49 developing into a “Cracker”

Kerrod Smyth of Laurel Glen Equine Centre, Alton Downs reports that Lot 49 at next Sunday’s forthcoming Capricornia Yearling Sale is developing into a “cracker”.

The filly is a daughter of Rothesay and the Radjhasi mare Isis River and Laurel Glen is preparing her for the sale for Ray and Rosemary Anderson’s Sarna Racing and Breeding.

‘’I only got sent her from Sarna on February 1 so she has only eight weeks of feed in her to date and already looks the goods”, Smyth said last Friday.

He said the filly descends from the family of the 13 times winner River Lad, the Gr 1 victor of a Stradbroke Handicap.

‘’This filly comes from the Irugnette family with the original dam being River Of Destiny who after a successful career as a Rockhampton two-year-old under Frank Crick won many times in Brisbane. As well she campaigned in Sydney and Melbourne’’, Smyth said.

River of Destiny was a daughter of the gifted and tough sprinter River Rough and she won 14 races as well as recording placings in Sydney and Melbourne while being LR placed.
